I'm considering doing the corporate thing, having done the entrepreneurial thing for the last several years, and imagine that the communication skills will be quite different.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14170016.post-19545636335963027572007-08-08T09:39:00.000-06:002007-08-08T09:39:00.000-06:00Excellent post. The corporate anti-bodies are especially virulent in my organization. Passive aggressive IS the name of the game for corporate survival.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14170016.post-511190284069909472007-07-11T10:22:00.000-06:002007-07-11T10:22:00.000-06:00Scott,I started my working career three years ago ...Scott,

I started my working career three years ago and very quickly learnt within the startup company, that even an employee, you need to be entrepreneurial. BigCo's do have their perks that startups dont however!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14170016.post-35462199693161524052007-07-10T21:05:00.000-06:002007-07-10T21:05:00.000-06:00That's a great acid test for a would-be entreprene...That's a great acid test for a would-be entrepreneur - if you're working in a company that supports or rewards passive-aggressive behavior, you're not an entrepreneur!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14170016.post-57398518937612548892007-07-09T19:55:00.000-06:002007-07-09T19:55:00.000-06:00Good post Scott. Once a company gets large it becomes a survival skill that you learn or you get wacked by the guy across the hall, and you never see it coming. It's a much different place and a key to the inertia of a large company. I think its valuable to someone's overall carrier to have 'been there' once however, you just have to recognize it for what it is.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14170016.post-1994021572465111392007-07-09T06:48:00.000-06:002007-07-09T06:48:00.000-06:00Scott,Great post. In the end I left the company I founded, but I took with me the lessons and the "vocabulary" you need to survive with in a BigCo.

Cheers,

PeterAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07858074897556111844noreply@blogger.com
